Tent Installation Requirements

Learn how our tents are installed, how they are secured, what site requirements must be met before installation, and what to expect on installation day.

For the safety of your guests and our team, all tents must be professionally installed and removed by Hill Country Event Rentals. Customers are not permitted to install, move, modify, or remove tents.

How Are Tents Secured?

Our tents are secured using the safest method for your installation site.

Depending on the surface, tents may be installed using:

  • Stakes driven into the ground

  • Weighted ballast systems (tent barrels or concrete weights)

Our installation team will determine the most appropriate and secure anchoring method based on your venue and site conditions.

Water Source Requirements

If your tent requires water-filled ballast barrels, we may need access to a working outdoor water source (spigot) near the installation area.

If a water source is not available, please let our team know before your event so we can discuss alternative anchoring options.

Installation Site Requirements

Before your scheduled installation, please ensure:

  • The installation area is clear and accessible.

  • Vehicles, trailers, and other obstacles have been removed.

  • Gates are unlocked or access instructions have been provided.

  • Underground utilities have been properly marked if staking is required (see our Underground Utility Requirements article).

  • Any required venue approvals or permissions have been obtained.

  • Layout has been provided and/or the site area is clearly marked.

Permits & Venue Requirements

Some cities, parks, HOAs, or venues may require permits or have specific tent installation requirements.

If permits or approvals are required, we'll be happy to help guide you through the process. However, obtaining required permits or approvals is ultimately the customer's responsibility, depending on the venue or jurisdiction.

Questions?

Every event location is different. If you have questions about your installation site, surface type, or tent setup, please contact our team before your event. We're happy to help ensure your installation goes smoothly.
